Moving your body with connection and intentionally looks differently to everyone.
When we don’t move this way, most likely we are going through the motions, trying to conform our body into something that its not, or allowing external influencers to dictate our exercise regime.
More often then not it’s focused on punishment for something that you deem you shouldn't of done, instead of coming from a place of love, connection and excitement.
When you connect with your body, you let your daily movement plans be flexible, because how and what you feel like doing chances on a daily basis.
Try this: Before you head out the door to your movement session, sit for a minute in silence, and focus on your breath, and ask yourself:
“How would you like to be moved today?”
Listen carefully….And act on it.
Too often we disregard our intuition, instead choosing to listen to your hearts over our heads. This can take time,
If you are feeling energized you may decide to go for the 10km run or a weights class you had planned anyway, but if your feeling less then sparkly it may look like a 5km stroll instead whilst listening to music or a restorative yoga class.
There is no right, or wrong answer, it looks completely different for everyone, and that’s ok.
Exercise is a tool to show your body love, maintain a healthy lifestyle and stay fit for daily activities and hobbies.
Instead of seeing exercise as something that you should do, think about it in a positive light – your choosing to move your body and try different activities, until you find some that make you happy.
Plan these in on a regular basis - but again be flexible and forgiving with yourself if you do decide to change your routine, our energy, and life’s ebbs and flows, so our movement plan should reflect this.
Tune in on a regular basis, listen and act. Your body will love you for it.
